| Article 1-The Criminal Code | ||
| 1.1 | The Criminal Law of the Euro Union | |
| The Criminal Law of the Euro Union consists of this present Code. All existing and new laws providing for criminal responsibility are subject to inclusion in the present Code. |

| The present Code is based on the Constitution of Euro Union and the generally recognized principles and norms of international law. |
||
| 1.2 | Structure of the Criminal Code |

| The Criminal Code is structured into chapters, which in turn are divided into articles and then one or more clauses within each article. |
||
| The major chapters of the Criminal Code are: |

| While an article may belong to a particular chapter, the numbering of all articles is consecutive so that the entire body of articles of the Criminal Code may be read as one, with or without the chapter headings. | ||
